DRIVEThe GT40 Mk1 can be built for Left hand (LHD) or right hand (RHD) drive.  *This is specified upon ordering.

Drivetrain Configuration: Mid-engine with transaxle typically comprised of a Ford V8 and a Porsche 5 or 6 speed transaxle.  Should engine horsepower warrant a racing transaxle will be specified.

Fuel Tank Capacity: 20 gallons total

Suspension: Designed to reproduce the original suspension, but fabricated from billet aluminum uprights, control arms and braces.

Chassis Construction: All-aluminum monocoque chassis, consisting of sheet and billet parts, completely TIG-welded.

 

Body Construction: The body will mount to the aluminum monocoque and be comprised of hand-laid fiberglass body components for both inner and outer panels.

 

DIMENSIONS: 

Overall Length: 164.5″, from front to rear.

Width: 66″ with standard fenders from side to side.  Optional 68” or 70” with the additional 2” or 4″ Gulf-style flared rear quarters.

Height: 40.5″ from ground to the highest point on the standard body.

Wheelbase: 95″ from front wheel center to rear wheel center.

Weight: 2,350 lbs is typical with a Ford 289 or 302 CID V8 engine.  This weight may fluctuate with changes in the engine or transaxle.

Weight Distribution: 45% front, 55% rear is typical but depends on drivetrain and other choices. 

Ground Clearance: 4-5″, based upon the setup of the chassis.  Air pucks are available to provide clearance for driveways and speed bumps.
